Effects of Open and Closed Chain Exercises on Dynamic Balance and Range of Motion in Patients with Knee Osteoarthritis: RCT

Background: Osteoarthritis is a combination of mechanical problems characterized by degradation articular cartilage, articulating joints and subchondral space. Aim: To compare the effects open chain kinetic exercises closed in improving dynamic balance range motion patients with knee osteoarthritis. Study Design: Randomized controlled trial. Methodology: was conducted at Chugtai Medical center Lahore sample 46 were recruited randomly allocated two groups. One group performed OKC other asked to perform CKC exercises, while both groups received common baseline treatment prior corresponding intervention. Two session week given for period one month. Goniometry Y-balance scale used assess ROM pre post treatment, respectively. Data evaluated using SPSS version 23. Results: In this study, intra-group analysis illustrated that increase improvement statistically significant p-value<0.05. Whereas, inter-group showed interventions clinically effective treating osteoarthritis p-value>0.05 during four weeks. Practical Implication: This study highlighted physical training includes (OKC) (CKC) found be increasing reducing pain among patients. Conclusion: It concluded have shown equal compared those who been treated exercises. Keywords: Osteoarthritis, Exercises Dynamic Balance.
